Pull List for 26 August 2015

This may be the lightest week for new comics that I have had in a long time with only four titles due to be pulled (and one of those I’m so far behind on I may not get to reading it).  As always you can check out my pull list on the League of Comic Geeks site, and it also shows my ratings for the books I read each week.

Marvel Comics

Cover for "Lando #3"Ant-Man: Last Days
– This is, as the title suggests, the end of Nick Spencer’s Ant-Man run… at least until it (probably) relaunches.  The series was a short five issues long, plus one annual, but it was extremely popular with critics and makes a nice companion piece to this summer’s movie.  I’m looking forward to seeing how it wraps up, but sad that it is ending for the moment.

DC Comics
Cyborg #2 – Cyborg is a character who is due for a breakout as a major player in the DC universe.  He appears in Teen Titans: Go!, is set to debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and is a current mainstay member of the Justice League.  The launch of his new series following Convergence picked up some positive buzz, and it is easy to see why.  Hopefully it can maintain its momentum (i.e. not get dragged into pointless crossovers) and pickup a solid readership.

Dark Horse Comics
Halo #21 – This is the book that I am massively far behind on, and I have not even read a single issue of the current arc (this is part 3).  This would probably be a good week to correct that, especially with Halo 5 coming up soon.

Star Wars Comics
Lando #3 – The first two issues of this series were pretty impressive, and it will be interesting to see how Lando can possibly get away with the Emperor’s personal spacecraft (stolen back in issue 1).  It will also be interesting to see how this plays into Lando’s further entanglements with the Empire, as shown in The Empire Strikes Back.  Regardless, this is yet another quality Star Wars title coming from Marvel.

And that is it.  A short, but sweet, week to end out August and bring us into September.  There are some good titles on this list, and it may be what finally prompts me to get caught up on the Halo series.
